RFID in Healthcare
ICEGEN RFID Solutions developed intelligent applications that allow Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists and other members of an healthcare system to track patients, check availability of medication or equipment before generating and transmitting electronic prescriptions at the point of care using a PDA.
Benefits of ICEGEN RFID solutions for Healthcare needs
Application Alerts
An intuitive interface alerts the doctor or nurse about an emergency department patient. The Doctor synchronizes the application with the ICEGEN network.
The ICEGEN reader comes online and scans information from the pharmacy regarding medication information and updates the application using ICEGEN middleware.
Critical alerts such low or no availability of emergency equipment or items coming close to expiration date, critical laboratory values, or drug interactions on ordered medications on a patient to alert the healthcare provider can be used with appropriate output displayed on the PDA.
Discharge Summary
A nurse processes the discharge of a patient from the hospital. The application synchronizes the ICEGEN network and gets updates from the RFID tag on the patient regarding his history.
The information is sent to the Hospital Management System. The hospital system is simulated and it produces the result and discharges the patient and prepares his account statements, history, etc and the details are displayed on the PDA screen. A printout is generated for the patient with discharge instructions, follow-up care and any referrals needed. Patient Information
A member of the healthcare team requests information on an already admitted patient. The application synchronizes the ICEGEN network and gets updates from the RFID tag on the patient regarding his location, treatment and other pertinent information.
This information is cross referenced with hospital records and displays needed information on the PDA screen
Patient Monitoring
Using our intuitive interface the nurse or doctor sets a patient alert on a specific subject.
The application synchronizes the ICEGEN network based on some interval and gets updates from the RFID tag on the patient. This information is compared with the rules set by the nurse or doctor, if there is a deviation an alarm is triggered which is shown on the PDA.
